	Planning our Great Escape We wished, we hoped, and at last it is here! With summer finally catching up to us, we know how much there is to look forward to, but we wonder: do our kids really understand all the adventures that are in store for them? We asked Laura Vegas to put together this sweet little project to help your family visualize the exciting summer ahead. Created with our new Great Escape travel collection, this mini book calendar is a delightful tool to help children of all ages see what summer will look like, and help them anticipate the camps, the family visits, and the barbecues that are in their future.
	CATCHING UP - WITH HILLARY AND AUDRE Let's face it: even with an exciting summer ahead, many of us are saving money by enjoying our own "staycatio ns." But even if we're not traveling abroad, we can still create fabulous albums to help us capture the memories of a summer that will pass too fast. So we asked Hillary and Audre, two of Making Memories' designers, to create eight simple steps to making the ultimate album - for summer OR travel! Carry a zip-top bag to stash memorabilia from your favorite restaurant, a park outing, your kids, or your favorite shops. Save journaling notes as you go - in a diary, via text, or even as a voicemail! Use your downtime (on the plane, on a train, at the gas station) to update your journaling notes. Outfit the whole family with a journal so they can add notes and memories to the album as well! Take more photos than you think you will need. Download and save your photos as you go - either to your computer or to an online photo storing site. Try a different focus in your photos - people from the area; inspiring colors or architecture; off-the-beaten-path discoveries - to go beyond basic chronological format. You're not JUST the family historian; make sure you're part of the family history, too, by being included in the photos!
	Where in the World is Making Memories? Talking travel is more than just idle chatter for us. So far this year, our own team has logged an inordinate amount of time in the air, visiting destinations including Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, France, South Africa, Sweden, Australia, plus many of our own country's fine states! (See our Facebook page to follow us during our travels, and to see all the great photos our designers post there!) And that's only in the first six months of 2009! We're always traveling to new and fascinating destinations in search of the inspiration that we translate into exciting and beautiful products for you. So here's our question: where have YOU been recently that you think would inspire our designers, and why?
