Making Memories

Patty Smith may own the title of Making Memories' National Sales manager, but her position is one that takes her around the world. In recent years, Patty's quest to reach out to independent scrapbooking stores, large retail customers and distributors has taken her to Australia, Amsterdam, Italy and the UK, to name a few. In addition to overseeing sales efforts through her domestic sales force, Patty works from her Texas office to manage more than 20 international distributors as well.

The four-year company veteran holds a BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and an EMBA from Northern Illinois University. Prior to joining Making Memories, Patty worked with other category leaders including Fiskars, noting that there have been numerous changes in her 15 years serving the craft industry. "Customers today are more concerned than ever about how to manage and turn inventory," she explains. "It's a pleasure to offer them the Making Memories line that has evolved with their needs, bringing quick-turn limited and seasonal releases."

Two regular fixtures in Patty's life are her daily Starbucks (drink) and her beloved dog Emery. When not traveling for business, she also travels for fun and looks forward to her planned trips this summer to Prague and Munich.
