As Making Memories' distribution center manager, Brian Dearth is responsible for overseeing the dissemination of scrapbooking and paper crafting supplies shipping to worldwide destinations each day. Fortunately, this operations specialist brings with him more than 22 years of experience in distribution, logistics, transportation and leadership. His multitasking skills were honed after years working with a subsidiary of GE Capital, where he oversaw a 400,000 square-foot distribution center and a team consisting of nearly 300 staffers.
Dearth's multitasking abilities extend far beyond the professional and into his personal life, where he balances coaching his son's baseball team; pursuing hobbies including hunting, camping, hiking, golf, bike riding and yes -skydiving. He manages to maintain a 187 average in bowling, and has earned a Black Belt in Six Sigma. He also serves as a contributing member to Utah's Hogle Zoo and Thanksgiving Point's Non-Profit Institute, as well as the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and the Executive Group of Airfreight.com. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Utah-Idaho CSCMP Roundtable.
We were too tired to ask him if he did anything else.
